An Introduction to "An Entrepreneur's Logbook"
& Why This Might Be for You
Introduction
Hi, I’m George. Let me introduce myself 😊.
About two months ago, I started a podcast called An Entrepreneur’s Logbook, where I share the unfiltered reality of running a business day in and day out. It’s my space to document daily lessons, mistakes, wins, and everything in between. While the podcast captures the full journey, here on the blog, I’ll be sharing the tips, how-to’s and highlights — refined entries that offer a glimpse into the most valuable and personal moments.
In this post, I’ll take you behind the scenes of why I started this project, what you can expect, and why this might be for you.
Why I Started An Entrepreneur’s Logbook
When I launched An Entrepreneur’s Logbook, my goal was fairly simple: to share the real, unpolished journey of building businesses to become a successful entrepreneur. Currently, I run a media production company based in Germany, with a team of 15 people. We’ve been in business since 2017, and while the revenue we make looks great on paper — it doesn’t tell the full story.
Like many entrepreneurs, I reinvest most of my earnings into the company, so personal income doesn’t always reflect the hard work. Few talk about things like this. That’s part of why I started this logbook — to capture the highs, the lows, and all the challenges in between and learn from it.
For years, I’ve been navigating client work, managing a growing team, and figuring out how to diversify my projects. Along the way, I’ve realized that the glossy success stories we often see online rarely reflect the actual experiences of business owners. The late-night doubts, the hard-learned lessons, and the small yet meaningful victories — all of these moments are part of the journey. And I wanted to share them in a real, honest way.
A Bit About Me and My Entrepreneurial Journey
Before running my current company, I dabbled in freelance work and worked as a project manager for a large charity organization where I was responsible for projects in Germany, Uganda and the Netherlands. Those early projects sparked my entrepreneurial spirit and taught me a lot about what it means to run a business. Fast-forward to today, and I’m juggling multiple projects with the goal of becoming a true entrepreneur — someone who can build and scale a variety of ventures.
Why Hide Behind the Podcast Cover?
You might be wondering, “If this is such a personal journey, why hide behind a podcast cover?” Honestly, it’s a bit easier to speak freely when I’m behind the mic / keyboard and a silhouette. Running a business is a very public affair — clients, employees, partners all have their eyes on your every move. But with this here, I can be more candid. It’s like keeping a captain’s log, documenting each day’s successes and failures without worrying about how it might look from the outside.
That’s not to say I’m hiding from the world — I’m just taking a different approach to sharing my story. By speaking directly to you in these entries, I hope to create a space where we can all reflect on what it really takes to build something meaningful.
By sharing refined entries from my podcast, thoughts and lessons learned, I hope to engage with a broader community of entrepreneurs, creatives, and curious minds who want to interact and learn from each other.
This isn’t about flashy success or get-rich-quick schemes — it’s about the genuine highs and lows that come with the territory. My goal is to build a community where we can share experiences, learn from each other, and maybe even find a little humor in the struggles we face.
